Restoration - The Seatbacks
Well the teak rails looked worse than the handrails and we thought
for sure these would go in the trash. Now getting the rails off
takes a bit of time so be patient. The rails are glued onto the
deck so you have to pry them off slowly. Be careful not to break
the rails. A putty knife may work the best.
Keeping with our lessons learned from the handrails, "always
attempt to sand before tossing," we started sanding the rails.
Again! To our amazement the old weathered teak started to come alive.
Again we used our Black & Decker Mega Mouse sander going from
80,120,220 and a final hand sanding with 220. Next
