PAINT BOOTH
Nothing more fun than building a paint booth in the wind. Very
ironic...the one time you don't want wind with a sailboat
PRIMER - Awlgrip Primer 545
With all the filling and sanding complete we could finally apply
the primer. We use a Binks HVLP spray gun and a 28 gallon air compressor
which worked great. It was nice to finally see some real progress.
TOPCOAT HULL- Awlgrip: Snow White
Finally we get to see the results of all our hard work. The
Awlgrip looks fantastic.
TRAUMA 911
As we pulled up to start spraying the deck and finish the last
phase of our j22 restoration our hearts broke. In front of us we
saw the aftermath of a 30 knot micro burst. The carnage of 2 x 4's,
nails and plastic laid atop of our pristine vessel. But, like having
your computer crash and losing all your hours of work we knew there
was nothing we could but pull off the lumber, make a new plan and
push forward. It's just life.... (something about spilt milk)
NEW PAINT BOOTH
Hind sight being 20/20 this is probably what we should have
used in the first place. We pick this carport up at COSCO for only
$150 dollars. The sides easily go up and down which is nice.
TOPCOAT DECK- Awlgrip: Snow White
Spraying the deck is a bit of a challenge so make sure you plan
out your sequence. We are extremely excited with the results of
the Awlgrip. We also applied the Awlgrip Non Skid which was a huge
challenge.
